How long does a trip to Brentwood Place usually take? For most of the center's life the tenant list decided that for you. TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, Total Wine and More, CVS, Golf Galaxy, The UPS Store and Lapels Dry Cleaning are all still on Regency Centers' directory for the property, and every one of them suits a quick stop between other plans.
The spaces that changed hands in 2026 suit a different kind of visit. A former discount department store now holds pickleball courts and a bar. One storefront became a bookstore that doesn't open until 2 p.m. A Southern breakfast restaurant has a mid-October target. And a barbecue restaurant with a covered porch for its smoker is expected by the end of the year. Taken one at a time, each is just a nice addition. Taken together, they add time to both ends of the day at the center on Franklin Road.
The Old Stein Mart Got Eight Courts
The biggest change is also the most literal. The former Stein Mart at Brentwood Place, about 33,400 square feet, became Crush Yard. It's an indoor complex with eight pickleball courts, a full restaurant and bar, and room for leagues, lessons and open play. Crush Yard first announced the Brentwood lease in mid-2024. It originally planned an earlier opening, and the date eventually settled on May 11, 2026.
Brentwood is the brand's third location in the country, after Charleston and Orlando. Courts can be reserved or used for open play. The menu after a match includes Crush Nachos, Smoked Wings and house pizzas, according to Williamson Source's grand opening coverage. Crush Yard's own site now lists hours, food service and court booking for the Brentwood address.
What matters here is the swap. The space went from a store you browse for twenty minutes to a venue you book by the hour, and it brought leagues, which recur weekly. A big box that used to send people home with bags now holds them through a match and a meal.
A Bookstore With Afternoon and Evening Hours
The second piece shows up in a set of store hours. The Raven Book Lounge is in Suite 250B at 330 Franklin Road. It's open Tuesday through Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. It's closed Mondays. Most of those hours fall after 5 p.m., which tells you who the store expects to see.
Owner Danniele Reeves has lived in Williamson County for 16 years. She describes The Raven as a "boozy bookstore": fiction and nonfiction shelves alongside a bar serving drinks and small bites, decorated with antique typewriters and old books. The Williamson Herald reported that the grand opening on Saturday, April 18 drew hundreds of people, with lines out the front door. The day included six local author signings, vendor pop-ups and giveaways.
Reeves plans author signings, events with local artists, poetry nights and trivia. She has described the room as a place where "you can kind of be comfortable by yourself, you could come on a date, you could come with your group." A recurring event calendar is what changes a storefront's role in a shopping center. It gives people a reason to come back on a particular night instead of whenever an errand happens to bring them by.
Breakfast and Barbecue at Either End of the Day
Crush Yard and The Raven cover the evening. The next two openings take the morning and the middle of the day.
Big Bad Breakfast, John Currence's Southern breakfast and brunch restaurant, is coming to Suite 226B, a 4,450-square-foot space. In an August interview with WhatNow Nashville, Currence said permitting delays had slowed the project and that the team was aiming for a mid-October opening. It will be the brand's fifth location in greater Nashville. He described the choice of site this way:
"It's situated in a center that's full of activity. The parking lot stays full all the time, and I can't think of another neighborhood in town that would be more perfect for us."
Currence said the kitchen makes its food from scratch daily, including its jellies and jams. Its bacon, sausage, ham and turkey come from a company-owned facility in North Alabama.
Edley's Bar-B-Que is taking the space that McAlister's Deli held for about 20 years at 330 Franklin Road. Williamson Source reported the McAlister's closure in April 2026. The Brentwood restaurant will be Edley's 12th location, at about 3,800 square feet, with an opening expected by the end of 2026. The site plan went to the Brentwood Planning Commission on July 6 as a minor alteration, and city staff recommended approval. It covers new paint, cladding and awnings, plus a covered porch out back for the smoker. Signage goes through a separate review.
The smoker porch is a small detail, but it shows the change. A counter-service deli is giving way to a restaurant built around a pit.
Brentwood Place, Hour by Hour
Here's how the center's day looks once the new tenants are added to the longtime ones on Regency's directory. The longtime tenants are Crema Coffee Roasters, Bruegger's Bagels, Chick-fil-A, Fleet Feet, Le Creuset, Stock & Trade, Pure Barre, Mason Music, My Gym and The Children's Playroom.
| Part of the day | Longtime tenants | What 2026 added or announced |
|---|---|---|
| Morning | Crema Coffee Roasters, Bruegger's Bagels | Big Bad Breakfast, targeting mid-October |
| Midday | Chick-fil-A, Subway, shopping at Stock & Trade, Le Creuset, Fleet Feet | Edley's Bar-B-Que, expected by year-end |
| Afternoon | Pure Barre, My Gym, Mason Music, The Children's Playroom | The Raven Book Lounge opens at 2 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday |
| Evening | Total Wine and More | Crush Yard courts, restaurant and bar; The Raven open until 9 p.m., or 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday |
Crema has been part of the morning since it opened in Brentwood in late summer 2023. Stock & Trade, a home furnishings store selling custom upholstery, lighting, antiques and pieces by local artisans, has anchored the larger storefronts for years. The new arrivals take over the hours those tenants never covered: a sit-down breakfast before Crema's coffee crowd thins out, and a reason to stay after the dry cleaner has closed.
Still Pending This Fall
Two of the four openings are still ahead, so dates are worth checking before you plan around them.
- Big Bad Breakfast. The mid-October target came from Currence in August. As of late August, the restaurant's own Brentwood location page still read "Coming Soon," and no firm opening day has been announced.
- Edley's Bar-B-Que. The latest public timeline is still "by the end of the year," from Williamson Source's July coverage of the site plan.
- The Raven's bar. At the April opening, Reeves was still waiting on a liquor license and expected it soon, so the bar served creative mocktails that day.
- The center directory. Regency's online tenant list still shows Suite 700A, a 33,400-square-foot space, as "Great Retail Coming Soon." That matches the size of the former Stein Mart, which Crush Yard now occupies, so the listing looks out of date.
If Big Bad Breakfast hits its target and Edley's opens by December, you'll be able to get breakfast, lunch, a match and a late drink at Brentwood Place by the holidays, all at the same Franklin Road address.
